Massage Waiver:


I have chosen to consult with and hereby give consent for massage therapy to be provided by Maria Napier, who I understand is a member of the Association of Massage Therapists Ltd (AMT). I have provided a detailed medical history. I do not expect the therapist to have foreseen any previous or pre-existing condition that I have not mentioned. I understand that massage may provide benefits for certain conditions but results are not guaranteed. These benefits may include relief of muscular tension, relaxation, reduction in the symptoms of stress-related conditions and provision of general wellbeing.

I also understand that massage therapy may produce side effects such as muscle soreness, mild bruising, increased awareness of areas of pain and light-headedness amongst other possible temporary outcomes.
I am aware that the therapist does not diagnose illnesses, prescribe medications nor physically manipulate the spine or its immediate articulations. The therapist understands that I have the right to question procedures used and to receive an explanation of any procedures that the therapist performs. I will tell the therapist about any discomfort I may experience during the therapy session and understand that the therapy will be adjusted accordingly.

Pilates Waiver:


I understand that there is a risk associated with undertaking any exercise program.

I understand (a) whilst every care will be taken it is impossible to predict the body’s exact response to exercise and (b) every effort will be made to minimise these risks.


I agree that the instructor shall not be liable for injuries I suffer in respect of:
-Pilates exercises I perform outside of a supervised Pilates session.
-Pilates exercises performed other than in accordance with the direction and instructions of the instructor.
-Undertaking Pilates exercises while suffering from an injury or ailment of which I have not informed the instructor.
Mishap or injury inflicted by other participants of the Pilates group.
-Any injury sustained while on the premises resulting from personal inattentiveness.
-Lack of care by the studio or building in regard to maintenance of the premise.

I'm Maria, Studio Director at MVMNT & CO. Studio in Camden. 

I haven't really introduced myself so I thought I'd give you a quick run down. 

I've been in the health and fitness field for 21 years! Yes I know, I look so young. 
(Go ahead, I'll wait here while you scroll up to my photo to confirm).

I have 2 diplomas in Remedial Massage: 1 from Canada and 1 from Australia. I've also done fascial stretch therapy, and advanced training in lymphatic drainage. 

As far as massage is concerned I specialise in chronic pelvic pain, lymphatic drainage, and women's health. 

I do not massage feet. 

I am fully trained in mat Pilates, as well as Studio trained on all equipment, special populations,
and rehabilitation. 

I think I'm best known for taking clients with injuries and helping them get the movement they need. Seriously,  you could have 5 bulging discs, and I could make you sweat AND be symptom free the next day. 

My favourite exercise is shoulder bridge. 

Personally,  I have an awesome husband who is always tired, an (unqualified) therapy bulldog named Kevin, and managed to make 2 beautiful little men who are so kind and emphatic it's disgusting. 

I had a traumatic childhood, so I have a great sense of humour and danger. I also have ADD and do not miss a thing. 

My favourite colour is black, my favourite food is a burger, and my favourite word is fuck. I suffer from decision fatigue, and I can't commit to a favourite number. 

I hate pink (the colour, not the artist), unkind and ungrateful people, not being able to turn left on a red light, and the expression, "no worries". (I prefer "all good") 

I'm a great singer, but only in my jeep. I'm a terrible driver, but excellent parallel parker. 

I say "God Bless You", when I see road kill. And I prefer to sleep alone like the queen. 

I book out 3 weeks in advance,  so please don't message me to ask if I can fit you in that day. I can't.

 Yes we specialise in injury rehabilitation and work outs for the Broken and Beautiful People  but we can also pack a punch!

20 years ago I developed a program called Pilates for Fat Loss. It uses principles I learned from strength coach, Charles Poliquin, called German Body Composition. 

It's a highly individualised approach to weight loss for people who don't want to go to the gym for personal reasons,  or with injuries. 

Our queen Brooklyn is demonstrating one of our trademark "finishers" that solidify the BURN!

Join Brooklyn Wednesday mornings or Friday all day at MVMNT & CO. Studio in Camden!

Our studio, exercise, anatomy, science, and working together brings our little family so much joy!
  • "Pilates is accessible to everyone!" Me as I hang from the #pilatescadillac 😆

In reality, this is not a common exercise that we do at MVMNT & CO Studio.  Sure, we have some clients that could do it. But it's not functional.  It's not useful. And it doesn't apply  to real life. But it is fun!

I always say, "Pilates is already hard. It doesn't need to be fancy." Trust me, I did a lot of foundation and intermediate work before I did this. 

We have clients who can barely walk, some with injuries,  and some who are really fit! But we design programs that clients can carry into every aspect of life. Making people strong, flexible, and smarter every class.

No hanging from apparatus required 😉
